With the addition of a third skiff we needed a third dolly. Having built two already it went together quickly using the same specs as the first two. Wheels have been an ongoing problem though. We have yet to find any that stand up to the weight of the boat and being immersed in water. We’ll keep looking but I think we’ll have to up the budget.
The new thwarts have been fitted and cleats installed on the inside of the hull to support the ends. We found this the best way to make sure the thwarts do not have any rock in them. The kabe holes in the gunwales have been filled in and pads attached where the thole pins will go. This setup with plates and pins is the same as our other boats so we’ll be able to use our first set of wooden oars with the William S Shipp.
